Try 1<\/strong><\/p>\n I was hoping I could provide word press with an alternative url for the secure portion of the site (user log in and admin pages). \u00a0However<\/strong>, word press does not seem to\u00a0provide this functionality.<\/p>\n Try 2<\/strong><\/p>\n The confused lot page lives in a sub directory of faidley.org’s public html so I should be able to navigate it to through that structure. \u00a0In theory\u00a0http:\/\/www.faidley.org\/confusedlot.com\/ should also be the home page of confusedlot.com. \u00a0However<\/strong>, word press must be doing some magic since it reports a 404 when I access that page. \u00a0At some point<\/p>\n Edit:\u00a0Word press decided to delete the second half\u00a0of my post. \u00a0So\u00a0the rest was missing the first time I posted this. \u00a0I actual did figure out what happened and will post about it soon.<\/em><\/p>\n Try 2.5<\/strong><\/p>\n Well I don’t really need the whole of the site to be SSL enable but I really would like the back end. \u00a0So lets try the faidley.org path for that.\u00a0http:\/\/www.faidley.org\/confusedlot.com\/wp-admin\/ That appears to work,\u00a0however<\/strong>, wordpress actually does a redirect on that back to confusedlot.com so this will not work either.<\/p>\n Keep trying<\/strong><\/p>\n I will have to keep trying on this one. \u00a0I’m pretty sure I could move the whole site to a default faidley.org location and use a redirect on confusedlot but then all users looking in the address bar would see a faidley.org address. \u00a0I would also like to investigate to see if there are any plug-in that do what I need.
